Handling, passing and scrummaging

On Sunday morning, five girls from the under 12s and under 14s teams gathered for an action-packed rugby training session. The session began with a focus on handling skills, where players worked on improving their passing accuracy and timing. The coach emphasized the importance of quick hands and communication as the girls practiced passing down the line while ensuring they maintained strong support work for their teammates. This fundamental skill helped the players develop a smoother flow of attack, creating opportunities for each player to contribute effectively to the team’s offensive game.

As the session progressed, the group shifted their attention to scrummaging and line-out techniques. Players practiced the key elements of a solid scrum, working on their body positioning and coordination with teammates. The line-out drills allowed them to refine their jumping and throwing skills, ensuring that they could win possession cleanly and efficiently. To wrap up the session, the girls played a fast-paced game, where they applied everything they had learned. The match provided a fun yet challenging way for the players to test their skills in a game-like environment, ending the session with high energy and a strong sense of team spirit.
