With around 100 children representing Millom, Carlisle, Workington, Egremont, St Benedicts, Wigton and Penrith through in Cockermouth this morning - what a great advert for RU.
Having been matched up against Penrith and Carlisle the boys went to work. Taking on Penrith first the boys were out of the box with a couple of rapid fire tries to ease into the game. 6-7 mins into the game the boys started to score tries at will, with tries coming from all over the pitch - from prop, to wing and back again. Playing on a narrow pitch allowed us to work hard on our rucking as we try to develop this area of our play. Game result 12 tries to nil.
Game 2 Ospreys v Carlisle going down to a 10 v 10 player game allowed for our more silky skills to come to the fore with lots of interlink play between all players using our spaces-not-face mantra. Also during this game we introduced our kicking too, with another 3 tries coming by way of kick to the corners. Excellent passages of play throughout and the best of all all the lads playing smiles in their faces.
MOM this week was Josh Wilson with some tremendous all round play.
Big thanks to our kitchen volunteers this morning who were superb as always
