17 - 7 loss v Upper-Eden.
We got off to a very poor start conceding two early try's from slack defence and ball handling.
Collectively the boys attitudes changed and the defence became so much better.
Unfortunately our forwards just couldn't get momentum with our backs struggling to put pass combinations together.
That said our attitude to defend was outstanding for long periods of the game. Upper-Eden had us on the back foot but the boys forced Upper-Eden to make mistakes with tenacious contact with some fantastic kicking & chase gaining field position.
The boy's where dogmatic and took advantage of their hard defensive effort and managed to get some momentum with ball in hand to score a converted try.
Unfortunately in the last quarter of the game we gave away too many penalties within our 22 and Upper-Eden capitalised with a further try.
17-7 if only we came out of the blocks earlier *"it could have been a different result "*.
The effort the boys put in after the first 10 minutes was outstanding, but clearly a lesson to be learnt...
As always very proud of all the boys.
Thanks Stephen
